Welcome, 2020 ConnectHomeUSA Applicants!

We are excited to continue on our journey to welcoming new public housing and tribal communities to ConnectHomeUSA! Please read the Before You Apply section below before launching the application itself since you will not be able to save and return to it later. In order to better inform our applicants, we have included additional resources on this page to help guide your organization’s digital inclusion commitment conversation and ultimately, whether you will choose to apply to become a ConnectHomeUSA 2019 community.

The application period for the 2019 cohort opens May 23, 2019. The 2019 ConnectHomeUSA application will close at 5:00PM Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. Applicants will be notified via email regarding their status on or before August 31, 2019 and those who are not selected have the option to reapply in 2020.

Before You Apply

In this section we have included important information to assist you with planning and information-gathering. The application is simple but will require some review and coordination between the housing entity and local government. The following three resources are provided to help you prepare to complete the application and understand what will be asked of you as a participating ConnectHomeUSA community:

  • Annual Project Plan: Submitted in January of the following year after acceptance into ConnectHomeUSA, the Annual Project Plan is required of all communities each year during their 3-year (minimum) commitment to ConnectHomeUSA. It is designed to outline the organization’s vision and annual goals for connecting their residents to the internet as well as facilitating devices and digital literacy trainings. This resource is included here for your awareness but no action on your part as an applicant is needed at this time. Should you be accepted into ConnectHomeUSA 2019, your Annual Project Plan will not be due until January 31, 2020.

  • Partnership Letter: ConnectHomeUSA communities are required to obtain a letter of support signed by both a city/county/tribal government leader and the housing entity lead. The letter must demonstrate a commitment to closing the digital divide in the targeted community. A sample partnership letter is included here for your reference as a guide and therefore, we ask that its language not be duplicated.

  • Shared Commitment Agreement: ConnectHomeUSA applicants are asked to read this document in order to better understand program expectations and requirements in advance of completing their application, including attendance at the 5th Annual National ConnectHomeUSA Summit in Washington, D.C. October 28-30, 2019 among others. Please note applicants will be asked to accept or reject the documents’ terms on the ConnectHomeUSA 2019 application itself.

Finally, applicants are also urged to visit the ConnectHomeUSA FAQ before submitting a question about the application process to ConnectHomeUSA@EveryoneOn.org. All applicants are also invited to attend an informational webinar on the application process as well as the ConnectHomeUSA program itself including time for Q/A on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 3:00 - 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.
